Capvent was founded in July 2000 by Managing Partners Tom Clausen and Varun Sood. Tom and Varun saw an opportunity to offer sophisticated investors a highly focused, disciplined and performance-oriented approach to investing in the private equity asset class.

Capvent has since established a reputation in the industry for being one of the most disciplined and sophisticated private equity investment firms on a global basis, with a strong focus on Europe and on India and China. We have offices in Europe (Zurich and London) and in India, and are led by a team of five partners.

We manage and advise private equity and alternative investment programs of over $1.2 BN in size, invested in close to 80 groups worldwide. In India we are the largest and most well established LP investor and have established an on the ground presence across three offices since 2003. We manage specific diversified private equity programs such as the Capvent India Private Equity (CIPE) funds through a fund of funds approach. We also have a number of investment activities in the infrastructure and real estate space, where our objective is to offer our investors diversified access to the highest quality opportunities within unquoted alternative assets.
