Anson Wang

Anson co-founded CMIA in 2003, a private equity firm focused on providing growth capital to mid-sized companies in China with the potential to become industry or market leaders. CMIA manages in excess of US$300 MM and works in partnership with portfolio companies to strategize, institutionalize and build their businesses. CMIA’s investee companies that are publicly listed on the Singapore Exchange include FerroChina (www.ferro-china.com), Longcheer Holdings (www.longcheertel.com), Midsouth Holdings (www.midsouth.com.cn) and Sino-Environment Technology Group (www.sino-env.com).

He has over 25 years of experience in private equity and venture capital, fund management, corporate banking and finance. Anson was previously Regional Managing Director at HSBC Asset Management, responsible for HSBC’s institutional fund management business. Prior to HSBC, Anson was the founding Chief Executive Officer at State Street Global Advisors (Asia), the fund management arm of the State Street Bank Corporation. He previously worked in Chicago, New York, London, Beijing and Hong Kong.

Anson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Business Administration in International Finance from Rutgers University, where he was also a fellowship recipient and honors graduate.
