Rahul, is the Managing Partner of Baring Private Equity Partners (India) Limited. He is a Senior Partner of BPEP International and is also a member of the Investment Committee of The Baring Vostok Private Equity Fund. He has also been a member of ING’s India Advisory Board.

Rahul served as the Chairman of MphasiS BFL Limited and oversaw its transformation from a loss making to a profit making company, instituted ESOP schemes for talent retention, introduced transparency and corporate governance, facilitated a management transformation and drove a consolidation and bulking up strategy. He continues to be on the board of MphasiS BFL. He also serves on the board of HOEC Ltd.& a number of portfolio companies and chairs the audit committee of HOEC. As a senior member of the Barings team, he has spoken at various conferences in India and overseas and is a member of the “CEO Forum” at the Economist Corporate Network and conducts lectures in numerous management institutions.

Rahul worked for eight years with Citicorp, ending his tenure as Vice President – Global Asset Management. At the time of leaving Citibank, he was the Fund Manager of Citibank Global Asset Management in London where he was involved in asset allocation on a sectoral and regional basis for all their global portfolios. Aside from his experience in the developed markets, Rahul has actively invested in the emerging markets in Latin America, East Europe, Russia, Asia and India. Besides equity, he has also managed a portfolio of derivative securities in the developed markets. Prior to moving to London, he was based in Citibank’s Delhi Office as Treasurer, Northern India.

Rahul holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Asia’s premier business school. He is based in Delhi and speaks Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali and English.
