Ranjit is a Partner at Gaja Capital Partners, an India focused private equity firm. The firm follows a
sector-agnostic investment strategy aimed at exceptional growth situations in the Indian mid-market.
He has over 23 years of prior experience in corporate management including 5 years as Managing Director and CEO of BPL Telecom. His earlier experience as CFO in the export
sector included managing one of the large corporate FX treasury operations in India. Ranjit’s prior
experience includes Investment Banking with an international bank focused on IPO’s & debt
syndications and in Management Consulting for some of India’s leading companies. His
entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding a finance company providing asset finance for
professionals, which he successfully exited through a public listing and corporate sale. He has also
made VC / PE investments in technology and engineering services. He has an MBA from the
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian
Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.
He is active with Michigan’s alumni and business school activities and is also a member of their
Alumni Admissions Committee. He has spoken at several forums including CII / Exim Bank (on
Export Competitiveness), Reserve Bank of India (on Commodity Hedging), Symbiosis Management
Institute (Keynote Speaker - on Entrepreneurship).
