Varun Sood, Managing Partner
Varun is a co-founder of Capvent AG, and jointly manages the firm's investment activities and operations. Varun has served on the EVCA's professional standards committee and corporate governance task group that aimed at setting internal standards for member firms in Europe, and also serves on serves on several fund advisory boards. Previously, Varun was Executive Director and head of the European LBO group at Société Générale, and a Vice President at ABN AMRO. He has a BA from Delhi University and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau , France.

Joe Sovran, Partner
Joe joined Capvent AG in 2002. He is responsible for sourcing, screening and monitoring private equity investments, and leads the Capvent team in various initiatives for its investor partners.He previously worked for Regent Associates, a European corporate development boutique investment bank . His early experience was with Nortel and IBM in Canada . He is an Engineer from the University of Waterloo, Canada, where he obtained a B.Sc., Systems Design Engineering, First Class Honors and earned his MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau , France .

Rohan Ajila, Managing Partner
Rohan is a Managing Partner at Capvent India Private Equity (CIPE) and Partner at Capvent AG. He is responsible for sourcing and managing our fund investments in India. He has been working with Capvent for 3 years, and came on board in CIPE in 2007. Previously he was Founder & CEO of Indiamarkets.com, a pioneer in the online and offline B2B Ecommerce in India with volumes of US$ 1 billion over last 4 years. He began his career as a credit rating research analyst with CRISIL-S&P, was an Investment Banker with Trans Arabian Investment Bank (TAIB) and advised MAPE, an Indian investment Bank on investment opportunities in India. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Houston, Texas, USA.

Thomas Vock, Managing Partner
Thomas joined Capvent AG in 1/2008, after having worked for Zürcher Kantonalbank as Head Asset Management. Prior to this, he gained extensive investment and operational experience in traditional and alternative investments (private equity, hedge funds and real estate) at Zurich Financial Services, Pictet & Cie and UBS. He is an Economist from the University of Berne, where he obtained a PhD (Dr. rer. pol.) in Financial Economics and earned his CFA from the CFA-Institute in Charlottesville, USA. He is president of the Swiss Society for Financial Market Research, which edits the Journal: Financial Markets and Portfolio Management.
